The mill girls worked from five o'clock in the morning to seven o'clock in the evening and were allowed one-half hour for breakfast and for dinner. They were paid two dollars a week. There were no cases of extortion and they were paid in full for any extra work done. The mill girls were They worked for eight to ten months in a year and were allowed to spend the rest of the time with their families.
