2. What was your reaction to the tone and emotion of President Carter as he delivered this address? Please explain your position.

His speech was overly critical on the prevailing economic affairs. Throughout his speech, he appeared to be pleading with the listener and did not sound confident in his assertions. I feel that instead of giving Americans the hope they needed, he unknowingly worsened the situation and Americans were aware of their dependency on foreign oil and its negative effect on the economy. The president should have instead gave them a road map on how they will help deal with the situation.
