The Cobb County was well-placed geographically and politically attracting more businesses, like Bell Bomber after the Great Depression and the war. The economy of Cobb County, Georgia prospered since the War Department had already decided by the end of the 1930s that aircraft plants should be built inland to shield them from attack. As well, aircraft plants were close to Atlanta, with its superb railroad system and new airfield.
