During a crisis, people often look up to their leaders not only for information about the situation at hand, but also for direction. It is important to have ethical leaders who can efficiently manage the situation without causing panic and worry among the people. A wise leader would gather as much information about the situation, learn from past experiences to come up with better solutions to efficiently manage the situation. Leaders should be humble as this would make them sensitive and respectful to other people and welcome ideas on how to handle the situation. Honesty is an important aspect as it allows leaders share truthful information on the crisis level. A leader should also show respect , compassion, kindness, and offer hope and encouragement to his colleagues and his subjects. These are values adopted by the Anishinaabe with regard to leadership.
