Petunia wanted no reminder of how she was treated "unfairly" as she was not allowed to go to Hogwarts which broke her relationship with her sister and made her bitter. The title character, Harry Potter, is an orphan who attends a boarding school to learn about magic. He was sent an invitation to Hogwarts, and he wanted to learn about magic.
