1.     Register: refers to the degree of formality of language, but in a more general sense it means the language used by a group of people who share similar work or interests, such as doctors or lawyers.

2.     Style: a particular procedure by which something is done; a manner or way.

3.     Cohesion: the state of sticking together, or (of people) being in close agreement and working well together.

4.     In synthetic phonics, the sounds of letters and letter combinations are taught first and later the method is taught to form complete words, while Analytic phonics focuses more on teaching whole words first and then analyzing on the constituents’ parts which made up the word.

 

5.      Multi- The prefix

       Modal - The root word

       -ity - The suffix

      The prefix, multi- means many, much, many times. In this case, the prefix as used in the word   multimodal means many modes.

 

The root word Modal is an adjective from the word Mode which means a way of doing something.

 

The suffix -ity means the state of being something. The suffix is used to form a noun from the adjective that conforms to the quality described for instance Multimodal is the adjective, Multimodality is the noun derived from Multimodal.
