The main conflict in the novel ,''Man Lands on the moon'' is caused by Makhulu Mamkwayi and her mother ,who have different set of beliefs. Makhulu never believed the white man's narrative and her beliefs were embedded in the customs of the society. She communicated with her cousin whom she believed will help her to overcome the spirit which might change her into a zombie. Her mother believed the white mans narrative of a man walking on the moon and considered her daughter's encounter with Yolisa not true. Makhulu blamed her mother for being absent to save Yolisa and this made Makhulu regretful.
