Good communication is not merely a procedure of conveying information from one unit to another. It is described as the art of first paying attention, reading the information, understanding it, analyzing it, and then transmitting it. There is a vast amount of energy that goes into communication. Gesticulations, tone of voice, verbal language, and body language are significant facets of communication. If the other individual is incapable of understanding any of these aspects, then the procedure fails.

Irrespective of the type of communication: oral, non-oral, printed, listening, or graphic, if people do not communicate efficiently, we put ourselves and others at peril. Moreover, physical and practical obstructions some barriers prevent an individual from being an effective communicator. These barriers include;

  • Displeasure or lack of concern with one’s job and responsibilities
  • Incapacity to listen to others
  • Lack of clearness and conviction
  • Communication styles, significantly when they vary
  • Fights within the place of work
  • Social dissimilarities and dialect

What challenges did you face as a communicator?

  1. Lack of worker engagement: Communicating with the personnel is practically unmanageable in organizations where individuals are not inspired and involved. Managers should motivate the workforce to foster seamless and effective communication within a business or organization.
  2. Unbalanced communication: Communicating with workers just for the tenacity of conveying big news or modifications is not sufficient. As a result, communications managers have to generate an ongoing communications strategy to keep their personnel up-to-date and engaged.
  3. Communication unpredictability: If businesses fail to employ workers’ communications platforms, it may be challenging to reach their workers at the appropriate time. Having a worker communications app is essential to ensuring that all employees are up-to-date and engaged.
  4. Lack of feedback: Workers’ feedback is closely associated with worker engagement and gratification. As a result, a lack of feedback may lead to lower employee involvement rates within the place of work.
