Phonetic awareness helps analyzing the different sounds that are in English, while semantics can be said to be the fundamental means of communicating. Phonetic assist in hearing different sounds and manipulate them during the transmission for example words like flower and flour are pronounced the same way but phonemic awareness and semantics helps us to know which word is being referred to according to sentence.
