Ambition is a strong positive drive for success and is a powerful personal character trait. A person with ambition has a dream of moving up in the world. Some have no real ambition but still, do good work. Others would instead get out of work, are shiftless and have a negative character trait.

An ambitious individual is someone who has a solid wish to achieve success by accomplishing their goals. You might have proved ambition when you applied hard work and devotion to overcome a challenge or exceed company intentions.
