In a single paragraph, describe what an abstract is
In writing, an abstract is a brief and concise summary of a research paper. It is usually at the beginning of the paper and provides the reader with a quick background information on the research or report content. The central theme or most important content discussed in the paper should be highlighted in the abstract. Other information that should be highlighted include: the research problem, the research design or method and major findings. An abstract’s purpose it to provide a description of the paper’s thesis statement and should thus not evaluate or defend the paper.
