To change my leaners' attitude towards poetry, I chose a poem that appeals to their senses. The choice of words for the poem further evoke and create some strong feelings on the leaners.

For instance words like "soft", "fuzzy" are sensory words that allows leaners to create images of the teddy bear described.

Moreover, phrases like, "I smell birds chattering in the trees" are instances where words are manipulated to make the poem interesting, also poetry gives the room for bending the rules and having fun with the language.
