In line with the three main purposes of language that include Directive, Expressive and Informative, one is able to distinguish between subjective and objective styles of writing. Subjective form of writing is seen to go in line with the expressive form of language since it involves writing that reflects on someone's opinion about something. Objective style on the other hand is seen to go in line with the Informative form of language since it reflects on writings that are facts and not someone's opinion.
