Companion- a fire has become a companion to a man by improving his quality of life. It was through fire that man learnt to cook his food and improve his nutritional intake. It is through fire that man learnt to keep warm in the curve during the ice age.

enemy- on the other hand, a fire has become an enemy to man through its destructive power. Throughout man's history, a fire has consumed and destroyed many of his magnificent accomplishments. Examples include the burning of Rome, London and Athens just to name a few.
