Originally published in 1749 by Henry Fielding, the novel named 'The history of Tom Jones' is used by the author to highlight various formes of hypocrisy and immorality in the society. Through careful building of characters, the author is able to highlight issues such as double standards, infidelity and greed that seem to shape our society. The author also however shows the ability for redemption for those who seek to correct their paths in the story.
