Most schools and colleges spend too much money
preparing students for careers and not enough preparing them to make social decisions.”
Do you agree with this statement?
This is true. This is because, the school curriculum is designed in a way that instils knowledge, skills and career empowerment as opposed to social decisions. For instance, making friends, socializing, having a conversation with peers is often seen as a waste of time. However, this helps people develop emotional connection, relieve stress and also make lifelong relationships which are far much better than career preparation. Social decisions should also be encouraged since out of that, one may learn on how to select good friends, who may end up being partners or employers in the further. Thus, decision making learning and career development should both be encouraged.
