According to the unitarist approach, employees and employers are a common unit with mutual goals. Employers and employees have uniform understanding that means the arbitration of unions is not needed. The unitary approach stresses on the need to have teamwork and get rid of conficts. Conflicts are seen to be dangerous and destructive. On the other hand, according to the pluralist approach conflict is foreseeable. This is because the organisation is made up of people with different objectives, values and leadership styles. The conflict in this case is not seen as destructive but rather, an avenue for growth. Trade unions in this case are important because they regulate power among employers and employees.
