Five steps to encourage productive discussions in the classroom.

  1. Create a plan for conducting the discussion.
  2. Keep students' attention in the class.
  3. Build a safe space.
  4. Have students pair up.
  5. Encourage collaboration.

In order to guide a successful discussion, I will create a plan for the main purpose of a conversation and a general idea of it. It is also important to keep students' attention in the class. I will wander throughout the classroom to keep scholars alert and tracking me. Building a safe space means supporting students and encouraging them during the discussion. A classic assessment technique like pair up motivates a scholar to provide an answer to a question and share it with the classmates. Most of the students adore collaboration and working in groups. This technique helps to create a high level of classroom productivity.
