Scientific management school theory, pioneered by Frederick Taylor, was developed to increase productivity in organizations. This management theory was designed to promote workforce efficiency during a time when the supply of skilled labor was low. This management theory emphasizes that work and responsibility ought to be evenly divided between the workforce and the management. Originally, an organization’s management established the directives whereas the workforce adhered to them. However, Taylor believed that workers and management alike had joint responsibilities towards enhanced production and performance in their firm and thus should work in complete cooperation. This implied that tasks and responsibilities ought to be divided equally among workers and managers who together must purpose to realize their job specialization, goal and objectives via established scientific management principles.
