Over the years, America has been on wars with different factions, an aspect that has defined how Americans view themselves and how others view them. Firstly, the country gained independence by fighting against the UK. Secondly, Native Americans were displaced through battles. Thirdly, the end of slavery in America was through confrontations. All these aspects created an aspect of fear among Americans. This panic is manifested through ethnic divisions where Americans are seen as black, white, minority, or Latin. The 9/11, 2001 blast also created another fear of the Muslim Americans. While Americans view themselves as different from one another, others see them as divided.
