I don't agree, that advertising is always tasteless, offensive and a nuisance that wastes resources, because good advertising may be of good taste and may be a really good and effective instrument to increase the sales of a good and total profits of the company. That's why the better the marketing department advertises its goods, the higher is the probability, that this advertising will be effective and will increase sales and profits. So, I don't agree with the statement.
