The novel focuses on sinvula ,the main character supported by Ma Simanga.The latter suspected her brother in law,Sinvula was involved in death of her husband and other children.With Sinvula and Ma Simanga are many other minor characters Chum and Tomas(mother and son),Nico,Kachana,Tomas ,Elder Situmbeko,Namukolo and Dr Castro.Among these characters there are conflicts created, for example the traditional outlook and the modern outlook in life.Their various beliefs aslo create conflicts.Dicuss these conflicts which are actually chain of related events that make up the story.
