was the number of people employed and the number of people unemployed?

Labor force = Adult population* Labor force participation = 46.5 mln*63.5%=29.53 mln
Unemployed people = Labor force*Unemployment rate = 29.53mln*5.8%=1.71 mln
Employed people = Labor force- Unemployed people=29.53mln – 1.71mln = 27.82 mln
The rest of adult population is inactive population, like staying at home mothers, disabled people etc.
