why lysosomes does not digest their own cells

Lysosomes have theirown membrane, so, they are separated from the cytosol and the pH inside the
lysosomes is about 4.8 when the pH in the cytosol is about 7. So, lysosomal
enzymes cannot work within the cytosol because the high pH reduces their
activity.
