A financial institution needs to employ more people to work with, and so they contracted a consulting firm, Centre for Business Intelligence and Talent Management (CBI-TM) to assist in the process. The consultants who are mainly I-O psychologists would have to decide on which selection test (predictor) or approach to use. As a member of CBI-TM, you are to help your firm by making a presentation on your preference, Assessment Centers, detailing the processes, examples and relevance
The first approach to use, is to first work with the human resource management department to learn about t the employees.
Assessment allows you to involve members from the very beginning of the process. This encourages both trust in the process and community buy-in and support, not only of the assessment, but of whatever actions are taken as a result of it.
An assessment will encourage firm employees to consider the firm's assets and how to use them, as well as the firm's needs and how to address them. That consideration can be the first step in their learning how to use their own resources to solve problems and improve working life.
