Change is a major part of our lives, whether it is changed in industries, technologies, or various sectors such as transportation, education, health care, or social policies. The topic of policy change is a widely researched area in public policy and political science.

Effective policy change is more likely to improve health when key principles are considered. It helps to identify how, when, and by whom the change will be evaluated. After implementation, resources and other supports from stakeholders may decrease. Policy sustainability profits from planning for these changes from the start of the policy process. Policy change can also help address current and future public health issues in the state. Policy change transpires through relations between wide external changes or shocks to the political system and the success of the ideas in the unions, which may cause performers in the activism coalition to change unions.

The following are some of the drivers of policy change; Path dependence and it argue that it is commonly difficult to change policies because institutions are sticky, and actors protect the existing model. Another driver of policy change is the advocacy coalition framework whereby it identifies that there are sets of core ideas about relationships and values in public policy and these coalitions form because certain interests are linked to them.
