Answer to Question #23075 in Molecular Physics | Thermodynamics for sunil sharma

Question #23075
Take two identical metallic numbers A and B.insulate one number (say A) by wrapping chart paper around it.place tumbler B on the table and pour hot water (at about 70 degree) in it to fill about two third with it.use measuring cylinder for pouring hot water in B so that you know volume of water in the tumbler . insert a thermometer in the hot water and hold it vertically . with the help of a watch take reading of thermometer initially (t=0) and thereafter every 30 seconds. continue measurement for 10 minutes . record temperature of hot water against time and plot a graph between time and temperature.
repeat the experiment with tumbler a pouring same amount of water at the same initial temperature .in it.compare the two cooling curves and draw your conclusions.
suggest two improvements in the design of the experiment so that you may show the effect of the thermal insulation on cooling more vividly.
