Answer to Question #15833 in Electricity and Magnetism for william

Question #15833
In a transformer-assumed to be ideal, power in the primary is equal to power in the secondary. So in a sence, the power in the secondary is 'fixed'. Output voltage in the secondary is also fixed by the turns ratio & the voltage in the primary. The current tapped from the secondary coil should then be fixed - I=P/V. But doesnt' the resistance in the circuit connected to the secondary coil also affect the current tapped from the secondary coil? So if a load resistance in the secondary coil circuit is varied, will the current still be fixed - (I=P/V)... or will it vary - (I=V/R)?
