Question #97491
Allegory of the cave: Give an original example from our world of mistaking shadows for reality, making sure that the example parallels the allegory in at least some respects. The example can involve a single person, or a whole group of people.
Expert's answer

The 'Allegory Of The Cave' is a theory put forward by Plato, concerning human perception. Plato claimed that knowledge gained through the senses is no more than opinion and that, in order to have real knowledge, we must gain it through philosophical reasoning.

For example, people who live in the same place for the whole life, doesn't travel even across the country, and learn all the information about the entire world and other countries only from TV, stories of other people, and from fake news, will have subjective and very limited opinion about some events.
