Answer to Question #28822 in Statistics and Probability for Ieyz
a sign board read "average depth: 11 feet". a herd of elephants was coming by and entered the river in order to cross it. even though the average height of an elephant is known to be 12 feet and the height of each elephant was certainly at least 11 feet yet, to the surprise of a boy camping nearby, all the elephants were completely submerged and underwater for most of the period. why do you think that happened?
