A channel of conflict is a class among channel partners involved in the same channel of distribution of business. One of the channels of conflict is horizontal channel conflicts. A horizontal conflict arises when two players at the same level of the distribution channel. An example of horizontal conflict is when two retailors or two distributors have a conflict. The second type of channel conflict is vertical conflict. A vertical conflict exists when the conflict is between players are at different levels. An example of a vertical conflict is when a retailer and a distributor conflict.
