1.     The meeting organizer's risk team should know whether the guests ate at the hotel where the event was organized or another restaurant to know if their food was the problem. It should get the details of check-in time and check-out time, more specifically when meals were being served. The hotel should be getting the details of the ingredients used to prepare the foods served and investigate their sources and whether they were safe for consumption.

2.     The hotel should be adhering to all safety standards when ordering ingredients and be subjected to quality checks to ensure they meet the mandatory food safety standards by health guidelines.

3.     If the outbreak occurred at the hotel where the meeting was held, the meeting organizer would have to bear the guests’ medication costs. The organizer will also face legal charges for putting the lives and health of the guests at risk. Even if the meeting organizer is not to blame, it really matters since the hotel will lose a reasonable impact on reputation risk and lose a sizeable market share as no one will need to take a meal or meeting there.
