Lenin served as a Russian revolutionary and political theorist. He was the head of government from 1917-1924. During his reign, Russia became a party socialist state. After his brother’s execution and being that he was from a fairly well off middle-class family, he embraced socialist politics. After the 1917 revolution, he and his family were sent into internal exile and were to be initially be tried in a court of law. The Russian civil war however made execution favourable in the eyes of the Soviet government. The execution was ordered on him and his family but rumours kept going around that he had escaped his execution.
Rasputin the mad monkeyes
Rasputin entered the court of King Nicholas II because he allegedly had healing abilities. The king and the family had hoped he could heal their son’s haemophilia. He was a favourite of Nicholas’s wife but he did not have much political influence. He met his brutal death by assassins as he was swept up in the events of the Russian revolution.
