Aspects of Spanish Culture Adopted by Nahuas

Nahuas are an exotic group of people that dominate the Mexico republic. Since the Spanish have dominated Mexico for close to 500 years now, there is a sense in which the interaction between Spaniards and the Nahuans resulted in the influence of the latter’s culture. The first aspect of Spanish culture adopted by the Nahuans is language. The present Nahuan language now constitutes a lot of Spanish due to the latter’s influence in the region for many years. Also in the context of religion, the Spanish influenced Nahuans in the sense that the latter started becoming religious and made specific gods whom they worshiped the same way Spaniards worshiped God and believed in mother Immaculate and the saints. In the context of the rule, the Nahuans imitated the Spanish way of ruling through colonialism. However, the Nahuans were inferior and couldn’t colonize any nation, so they resorted to the use of a tribute system through which they conquered surrounding city-states.
