The film was created with the depiction of a society which was cynical and corrupt especially amongst the politicians. At this point, the founding fathers would have thought that Washington DC was not what they fought for in the early years when they had explicitly ventured their efforts in restoring hope in the society. To this extent, the film exudes a new society that was being governed by politicians who had no value for the lives lost and the sense of purpose served by the founding fathers. However, Jefferson Smith (Jimmy Stewart) is exuded as the new hope for the society whose goals is to courageously reinstate the moral patriarchal order that was disregarded by the politicians at that time.
