Answer to Question #74864 in Physical geography for Rebecca

Question #74864
Under normal conditions (i.e. in the absence of El Nino or La Nina) what causes warm air/cumulonimbus clouds on the Australian coastline to move eastward across the Pacific over to Peruvian coastlines? Are thermodynamics involved or are winds in the troposphere blowing in the opposite direction to trade winds across the Pacific?
