Answer to Question #157104 in English for Chris

Question #157104

Rank the causes in order from 1-5, #1 did the most to cause the war, while #5 did the least to cause the war.

Failure of the Treaty of Versailles from WWI: Germany was humiliated, forced to take the blame, pay reparations, lost territory, and their military was reduced.

Worldwide Economic Depression: Economic struggles led people who were jobless and starving to look to strong leaders like Adolf Hitler for solutions.

Failure of the League of Nations: This peacekeeping force formed after WWI was too weak to prevent the rise of militarism and totalitarianism in Germany, Italy, and Japan. It soon collapsed.

Failure of Appeasement: Britain & France, in the Munich agreement,  allowed Germany to annex some land in Czechoslovakia if they agreed to not take anymore land. Germany broke their promise and invaded the rest of Czechoslovakia, and Britain and France did nothing to stop them.

Nationalism: Extreme pride in one’s nation led Germany and Japan to want to build up their nation and conquer other nations around them. They also resented Britain and France for the end of WWI.
