Outcome-Based Education in South Africa was based on four fundamental principles. They include clarity of focus, high expectation, designing down and expanded opportunities. Clarity of focus is used to indicate that teachers must endure to clearly focus on what they want the student to know, understand and be able to do. Hugh expectations stipulate that the teachers should establish high, challenging standards of performance to encourage students to engage in learning deeply. Designing down means that curriculum design must be based on clearly defined outcomes that students must acquire. The principle of expected opportunities is used to outline that teachers muss trice to provide all students with various opportunities based on their capabilities.
