Answer to Question #214689 in Mechanical Engineering for Zeeshan

Question #214689
The crank OP of a crank and slotted-lever mechanism as shown in figure below rotates at
100 rpm in the counter-clockwise direction. Lengths of various links are OP = 90 mm,
OA = 300 mm, AR = 480 mm and RS = 330 mm. The slider move along an axis
perpendicular to AO and is 120 mm from O. Determine the velocity of the slider during
cutting and return strokes.

For us to obtain the velocity of the slider during cutting and return strokes we need to draw the velocity and acceleration diagrams

"1 unit = 0.01 mm\\\\"

Velocity diagram

"2.1219*4=8.4876 m\/s\\\\\nV_{p_2p_1}=1.2929*4=5.1716 m\/s"

Acceleration diagram

"1.3206*500=660.3m\/s\\\\\na_{SR}=0.1280*500\\\\\na_{SR}=\\sqrt{a_{Rad}^2+a_{Tan}^2}\\\\\n(0.1280*500)^2-7.45^2=(\\alpha R)^2\\\\\n\\alpha=192.62"
