once a month he needs to travel to visit his parent’s house that is located 140km

away from his home. Given that the car’s fuel economy is 33 MPG (miles per

gallon (UK)), the fuel’s heating value and density are 42,000 kJ/kg and 0.75

kg/Litre respectively; calculate:

(a) The estimated monthly energy consumption (kJ/km); and

(b) The budget (MYR/month) that he needs to allocate to cover the travelling

cost every month, assuming the current petrol prices.
