NaF added or applied to Calcium carbonate and ethanoic acid can slowdown a reaction or prevent an unwanted chemical change. Ethanoic acid can react with NaF with forming HF, but this acid can react with Calcium carbonate, but slower. This is сause of slowing down of the reaction between Calcium carbonate and ethanoic acid.
