Answer on Inorganic Chemistry Question for JUBAIDA ELIZABETH MAHIN

Question #25724
Describe how you would prepare 2.00 L of 0.250 M NaOH from 1.00 M NaOH stock solution
Expert's answer
For preparing this solution you need to use C1V1 = C2V2 law, C = concentration and V = volume.
If C1 = 0.250
V1 = 2.00
C2 = 1.00

V2 is C1V1/C2 = 0.250*2.00/1.00 = 0.5 L
It means that you have to dilute 0.5 L of given solution to 2 L.
