Answer to Question #22773 in Inorganic Chemistry for Anurima Ray

Question #22773
Study the effects of acids and bases on the tensile strength of fibre.
Expert's answer
This covers a lot of material and not all fibers will react the same. Natural fibers tend to decay in strong acids and alkalies, lowering their tensile strength. Glass and Carbon fibers are usually not effected by acids or alkalies. Synthetic fibers are in between. Some greatly effected and others not.
