Research shows most of microorganisms regarded as probiotics are gram positive including Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium as the main species.

An example of a probiotic supplement in Bangladesh is yoghurt. Its health benefits include boosting the immune system, plays a vital role in promoting gut health by regulating digestive system, decreasing diarrhea, bloating and constipation. There is also an increase of microflora that are beneficial in the intestinal tract.
