Bone marrow suppression is a result of decreased production of fewer blood cells. It is a common side effect of strong medicines such as chemotherapy. Chemotherapy destroys cells in the cells in the bone marrow resulting in decreased red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. The potential clinical manifestation includes shortness of breath, easy bruising, and tiredness.
