Such type of reproduction is called hermaphroditism. In this case one animal plays the role of male and female in a same time and is able to produce male and female gametes. This sort of animals is called hermaphrodites.& Many protozoa, some coelenterates, flatworms, earthworms, crustaceans and mollusks and even certain fish and reptile species refer to this group.
